Sacramento National Wildlife Refuges.
We had lots of great views of birds and other wildlife at three wonderful refuges in the Sacramento Valley, California. The refuges we visited on this trip were the Colusa National Wildlife Refuge east of Williams, Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge at Road 68 off ramp from Interstate 5 near Willows, and Llano Seco National Wildlife Refuge northeast of Glenn, California. We would have visited others such as Gray Lodge Wildlife Area except the viewing was so productive where we were or along the roads in between. The wildlife views available in all the refuges change constantly and there is no wrong time to visit, but obviously some visits will be better than others. You just need to take your time to benefit from the surroundings.
